grand plans: some recent developments

Semple Stadium -- 53,000-seater venue recently redeveloped at a cost of €18m.

Gaelic Grounds -- Floodlights installed to original Limerick redevelopment at cost of €15m.

Casement Park (Ulster Council project) -- 42,000-seater stadium costing around £100m is on the way.

Armagh Athletic Grounds -- 19,500-seater £4.5m venue will open soon.

Mayo -- They have just redeveloped McHale Park to the tune of €10m and must raise €730,000 as part of repayments next year.

Cork -- 60,000-seater stadium costing €30m has been proposed.

Louth -- Currently looking at plans for new stadium worth up to €24m.

Clare -- Had considered a €30m stadium to hold 42,000 but Cusack Park is being upgraded instead and a €3m centre of excellence is in the pipeline.

Kerry -- Fitzgerald Stadium revamped at a cost of €4.8m. Centre of excellence to be built at Currans.

Longford -- Hoping to develop centre of excellence near Longford town.

Kildare -- New stadium at Broadford near Newbridge has been proposed.
