Game at a glance

Tony Scullion (Antrim): The Saffrons' half-back just shades the honour as his intelligent distribution set set up a number of key scores, including Mark Dougan's goal.

Turning point

Carlow will rue the sending off of Ed Finnegan after 54 minutes for a second yellow-card offence.

Talking point

Paddy Cunningham being left off the starting line-up -- manager Liam Bradley may find it hard to omit him next week after he scored three points off the bench.

Ref watch

Eddie Kinsella issued eight yellow cards and one red. Carlow fans felt that the sending off was harsh but Kinsella had very little choice.

What they said

Liam Bradley (Antrim manager):

"In the first half we showed a lack of composure, and half-time we told them to show a bit more pride in the jersey."

Luke Dempsey (Carlow manager):

"We're disappointed, but 14 against 15 was always going to be hard. We didn't have the composure to finish off Antrim but I am very proud of that group."
