Galway to avoid final clash

Galway hurling officials are keeping their fingers crossed that they will finally be able to play the replay of their senior county final next weekend.
The game between Loughrea and Clarinbridge was called off yesterday because both Pearse Stadium and back-up venue Kenny Park in Athenry were unplayable.
Galway officials, who will meet tonight, may reschedule the game for next Saturday, as Galway football champions Killererin take on St Brigid's of Roscommon in the Connacht club SFC final in Tuam next Sunday and it is unlikely that two major games would take place at the same time 20 miles apart.
