Gaffney brace puts Doon to sword
Kilkenny CBS 2-9 Scoil na Trionoide Naofa 0-10 ALL-IRELAND COLS 'A' HC SEMI-FINALS
Andrew Gaffney found the net twice in the opening quarter to set Kilkenny CBS on their way to the decider.
CBS were never less than four points in front after Gaffney's second goal and, despite the efforts of Colin Ryan, Scoil na Trionoide Naofa Doon never looked like getting the goals they needed.
Doon did take the lead through Dean Coleman in the first minute, but Gaffney got the first of his goals straight away and his second confirmed Kilkenny CBS's superiority in attack.
Dean Coleman and Ryan were a handful up front for the Limerick side, but Kilkenny's full-back line grew in confidence and they rarely afforded them too much space in the second half.
The likes of Gaffney, Luke Scanlon, Robbie Buckley and JP Treacy kept the scoreboard ticking over as the game drew to a close and CBS's place in the final never looked at real risk.
