Freshford are the queen of clubs again

St Lachtain's 1-9 Davitts 1-4 Máire Uí Scolaí All-Ireland Camogie Final REIGNING champions, St.Lachtain's Freshford retained their All-Ireland club title yesterday with a classy display to beat Galway champions Davitts by five points at Cloughjordan.

The first half was a tight affair and there were few sightings of goal for either team until St Lachtain's full forward Marie O'Connor struck gold in the 21st minute to help the Kilkenny side into a 1-5 to 0-3 half-time lead.

Davitts weren't goint to throw in the towel easily having lost their two previous final appearances and with wind advantage in the second-half they were in with a real chance.

Lourda Kavanagh cut the gap to two points with a goal for Davitts but the champions pulled away again with points from O'Connor and Imelda Kennedy.

Liatroim Fontenoys from Down also retained the Junior title beating Newmarket on Fergus by 3-7 to 0-8.
