Foley keeps Carlow flying

CARLOW'S fine 2010 continued yesterday as they recorded their fourth league win of the campaign at St Conleth's Park over a Kildare side who are left in serious relegation trouble.
The visitors dominated the opening half and four points from Paudie Kehoe and a Craig Doyle goal gave them a convincing 1-8 to 0-3 lead at half time.
Kehoe netted Carlow's second goal soon after the restart but Kildare struck back with two goals in the space of five minutes through David Kennedy and Martin Fitzgerald. Kildare had chances to narrow Carlow's lead further but they were wasteful in front of the posts and Robbie Foley's goal five minutes from the end saw Carlow run out commanding winners.
Laois await Carlow in the final round of games and a win there would leave them with a chance of making the league final.
