DESPITE playing the entire game with 14 men, Colaisti na nDeise still managed to book their place in the Dr Harty Cup semi-final.
Midfielder Kieran Power was shown a red card by ref John O'Brien before the sliotar was even thrown in, after an incident which left Flannan's Martin O'Leary on the deck.
A 10-point haul from Cathal Curran -- all from placed balls -- laid the bedrock for the Deise victory, while Michael Hurney turned in an impressive performance at centre-forward and bagged 1-1 from play.
Hurney broke through the defence in the 21st minute and scrambled the sliotar into the net to give his team a 1-7 to 0-7 lead at the break.
Flannan's returned in better shape and a goal from a long-range effort by Stephen Ward levelled things up and made for a tense second period.
The Clare team's only time in front came when the influential Tony Kelly converted a free to put them 1-9 to 1-8 to the good, but Flannan's hit back.
