Fitzgerald keeps faith
THERE were no surprises from Waterford last night when they revealed their hand for tomorrow's mouth-watering All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Tipperary, writes Cliona Foley.
Manager Davy Fitzgerald has kept faith with the same starting 15 which beat Cork in that thrilling extra-time Munster final replay.
Not even super-sub Dan Shanahan -- whose heroic 83rd- minute goal finally separated the sides -- has been able to wrestle back a starting place in the Deise's settled team. Thirteen of their starters tomorrow also began last year's All-Ireland semi-final against Kilkenny.
Fitzgerald has indicated that he has closely monitored the changes that Tipperary have made to their midfield recently and will also have his defence wary of their forward power.
"They (Tipperary) seem to have sorted their defence out, Shane McGrath made a big difference when he went back to midfield the last day against Galway, and we all know that they have some of the best forwards in the country," he said. "They have great movement up front and that's something that we are going to have to be very aware of."
