Finn gives Gabriel's the edge

ST GABRIEL’S 2-12
KILLIMORDALY 2-11

MARTIN Finn's magnificent dead-ball striking proved the difference as his impressive 1-7 haul helped St Gabriel's, London, edge out Galway's Killimordaly in an extra-time thriller at St Brendan's Park, Birr.

Killimordaly, leading 1-4 to 1-3, were reduced to 14 men in the first minute of the second half as Niall Earls picked up a second yellow.

Finn missed a difficult opportunity to win it at the end of normal time (1-9 to 2-6) but Gabriel's were like men possessed at the beginning of extra-time and scored three early points.

Restored to the full complement, Killimordaly replied with four on the trot to lead 2-10 to 1-12.

But St Gabriel's got the decisive score in the 72nd minute when Finn netted.
