TWO quick-fire goals straight after half-time proved crucial as Mayo condemned Louth to their first defeat of the campaign in Dundalk.
The second-half accuracy of Kenny Feeney was also key as the westerners preserved their 100pc record.
Louth made a stunning start, rattling off 1-5, with Derek Horan crashing home a brilliant goal after just three minutes, and they led by 1-9 to 1-6 at the interval.
However, strikes from Darren McTighe and Niall Murphy in the first and fourth minutes of the second period turned the game on its head.
Mayo full-back Patrick Connell was dismissed on a second yellow in the 64th minute, but they kept their composure well in the closing stages -- none more so than Feeney, who hit all of his side's second-half points.

Midfielder Keith Raymond kept the Yeatsmen in contention with eight points, while full-forward Declan Loughnane hit 1-2.
