POSTERS on kilkennycats.com were gushing in their praise for their history chasers as they reflected on yesterday's crushing 12-point victory over Cork.
Another magnificent exhibition of modern day hurling had fans desperately searching for superlatives as the 'Stepford Wives' mined one of their sweetest victories of recent times.
'Inishowen Cat' mused: "I remember posting that the performance at this stage in 2008 (half-time) was the greatest exhibition I had ever seen. And it was. Not any more. Fennelly, Power, JJ were peerless and built the platform to win, pulling a plough. Both a thrill and a relief."
'The black and amber' followed suit as he enthused: "I feel bad for some of the great Cork players, but they came up against the greatest team of all time and were demolished. Roll on September. Its going be epic."
One Cork poster dared to cross the boundary, heaping generous praise on the winners. "Congrats to a great Kilkenny team, they were in a different league today," wrote 'Debanks'. Cork are down and will be out for a long long time I think, as the conveyor belt of young hurlers coming through is just not there in any great amount at present."
