Expert view: Ger 'Sparrow' O'Loughlin

Clare manager

'If Tipp can get close to last year's performance, I'd give them a very good chance of winning. They were probably unlucky to lose last year after that huge effort. In many ways they are in the perfect scenario coming into this game, having got the wake-up call they needed against Cork and rebuilt from there.

They'll have to stop the flow of goals for Kilkenny and close down the space. Kilkenny's midfield has been particularly impressive, so Tipperary will have to work very hard there if they are to get anything like an even break. As for Kilkenny's injuries, only they really know how serious Henry's is, so Brian Cody has to decide whether he's better off starting him or keeping him in reserve as an impact sub. He's such an important player for them.

Tipp have found a couple of new players and have a few fresh options. It'll be very tight, but I'll edge towards them.'

Verdict: Tipperary
