Easy for Kilkenny as flying Flannery inspires Offaly win
KILKENNY 4-7 TIPPERARY 2-7 All-Ireland Minor A Camogie KILKENNY were crowned All-Ireland Minor A Camogie champions after this richly-deserved final win over Tipperary at Parnell Park.
Tipperary raced into an early lead when Aoife McLoughney struck 1-1 inside the first four minutes. Kilkenny hit back through a Lucinda Gahan point before Katie Power levelled proceedings with a goal.
From then on there was only going to be one winner with Kilkenny taking a six-point lead into the break thanks to the accuracy of Edwina Keane, Marie Dargan, Collete Dormer and Siobhán Fahey.
The remainder of the game was a largely unremarkable affair after Power netted her second goal to effectively banish any notion of a comeback. The impressive McLoughney found the net late-on for Tipperary but classy Kilkenny responded with a Marie Dargan goal.
