Doyle goal seals victory

Colaiste Eoin 2-10
St Peter's 1-8

TWO second-half goals proved decisive as Colaiste Eoin secured a hard-earned victory over St Peter's in Athy yesterday.

St Peter's began the better, picking off some excellent points through Rhys Clarke, Kevin Whelan and Conor Heffernan.

But Colaiste Eoin edged their way back into it as the accuracy of midfielder Sean Moran, who finished with a haul of seven points, and Alex Pilkington helped them to go in level at the interval, 0-5 each.

Pilkington's goal 10 minutes into the second half handed Colaiste Eoin the initiative, but St Peter's sub Sean Purcell fired home 11 minutes from time to set up a thrilling finish. However, Seamus Doyle's goal two minutes from the end clinched victory for the Dublin side.
