Ardscoil Ris produced an awesome first-half performance in Templemore to blaze their way into the final, rattling off 2-8 against 0-1 from a dazzled Castlecomer CS.
Ardscoil had just two points on the scoreboard after 11 minutes, both from Shane Dowling, but once they hit their stride they were unstoppable.
Brendan O'Connor rifled a strike to the top right corner of the Castlecomer net on 13 minutes before Oisin Hickey and Dowling (free) made it 1-4 to 0-0 after 17 minutes.
Luke Maher got Castlecomer off the mark seconds later with a fine point, but that was the only positive of the half for the Kilkenny school.
Additional points from Mark Carmody, Dowling (two) and O'Connor complemented a fine goal from Oisin Hickey as Ardscoil went well clear at half-time, 2-8 to 0-1.
Left with nothing to do but battle, Castlecomer came out fighting in the second half.
They enjoyed a purple patch, rattling off an impressive five points in three minutes through Charles Dwyer (0-4) and Eoin Bergin.
However, that was as good as it got for Castlecomer as Ardscoil Ris regained control to run out handy winners and earn a chance to gain revenge for their defeat against St Kieran's in last year's final.
