Dooley and Burke teach UUJ a harsh lesson with attacking master class

University Limerick 3-18
UUJ 3-7

University of Limerick set up a mouth-watering quarter-final with UCC next week by virtue of this comfortable win over UUJ in Monasterevin.

The Shannonsiders began well, with wing-forward Noel O Murchadha clipping over two fine points before goals from Matt Ruth and Offaly star Shane Dooley propelled them into a comfortable lead.

Dooley also hit a brilliant point from the middle of the field, while David Burke added 1-5 in the second half.

It might have been worse for the Ulster men but for the heroics of goalkeeper Chris O'Connell, who produced two great saves from Dooley, while Neil McManus was their sole attacking threat, bagging all their scores.
