Derry ease through
Derry had little trouble in seeing off Tyrone at Healy Park to set up an quarter-final clash with Down.
The Red Hands never looked capable of causing an upset, and can have no complaints about the outcome, sealed by goalscorers Michael Kirkpatrick and Alan Grant.
Oisin McCloskey and Mark Craig found their range early on, firing over a handful of quality points from distance, with Cathal McErlean and Rory O'Neill responding.
It was only a matter of time before Derry would find the net, and Kirkpatrick pounced decisively in the 25th minute.
They led by 1-8 to 0-4 at the break, and frustrated Tyrone in the second half with clever stick work and willing support play. McErlean's fourth converted free was one of just two points Tyrone managed after the interval.
Kirkpatrick drilled three frees between the posts to tighten Derry's grip on the contest, and a 1-1 salvo from Grant in the closing stages completed the job in style.
