Deja vu as Cats advance

Kilkenny 3-10
Cork 0-11

Lightning struck twice for Cork as Kilkenny booked a spot in the final and ended their interest in the competition for the second year in a row at Mourneabbey.

Goals from Liam Hickey, Lee Kinsella and Denis Lennon proved the difference as the Cats ran out easy winners in the end. Kilkenny were superb in attack as they kept Cork's full-back Jeffrey Daly and 'keeper Paul Allen busy right from the first whistle.

Despite the tremendous displays of the Cork duo, last year's runners up made light of the wet conditions as they rattled off a selection of impressive scores.

All Kilkenny's good work started in the midfield area, with Willie Brennan and Lennon holding sway over their markers in the central battles.
