Currans cut loose to deny DLS

Colaisti Na nDeise 2-13 DLS Waterford 1-8

FOURTEEN-man Colaisti Na nDeise had their place in the final all but sealed by half-time as they surged into a 2-9 to 0-0 interval lead in this Waterford derby at Fraher Field.

For the second game in a row, they had to play the entire match a man down when Kevin Daly was given a straight red card before the ball was thrown in after an altercation with De La Salle full-back Paul Coughlan, who was red-carded himself before the break after picking up two yellows.

But goals from Michael Kiely and Micheal Harney, plus fine points from Cathal and Patrick Curran, gave them a firm grip.

De La Salle improved, with a goal from Austin Gleeson and three points from sub Jack McCarthy, but it was too late.
