Cork's path opening up

The season has reopened invitingly for Cork, who will have taken plenty encouragement from many aspects of their clash with Tipperary.

They will get their season back on track against Laois today and then have Offaly at home next weekend. It's all set up nicely for them -- indeed, these guys could well be hurling into August if the draws continue to go right for them.

There's also a great incentive for Antrim, Westmeath and Carlow, the trio on the other side of the first-round draw.

Westmeath's confidence will have risen after their good performance against Galway but they have to travel to Casement Park to play Antrim, which is a disadvantage.

Antrim to win and set up a clash with Carlow next week.
