Corcoran leads Ballyhale into final

S Aireagail B'hale 2-10 Borris VS 1-10

Ronan Corcoran was on fire in this semi-final, shooting 1-9 as Scoil Aireagail came from behind to beat a plucky Borris in Carlow.

Borris had their own shooting star in Marty Kavanagh, who weighed in with 1-7 from centre-back – the St Mullins clubman is a forward for the Carlow seniors.

Borris had first use of the strong wind and Kavanagh's 12th-minute goal gave them what looked like a significant 1-4 to 0-1 lead over the Ballyhale team.

But Corcoran's green flag for Scoil Aireagail on 19 minutes brought them right back as they closed the gap to 1-8 to 1-3 at the half-time break.

The south Kilkenny side made good use of the wind in the second half and, with the sides deadlocked on 1-10 apiece and the game up for grabs, it was Ballyhale who booked a final place with a goal in the 56th minute from full-forward Andrew Fitzpatrick.
