Athenry aces have it all their own way ATHENRY 1-19; FOUR ROADS 0-9 GALWAY champions Athenry remain among the favourites for the All-Ireland club SHC title after outclassing Roscommon's Four Roads in the Connacht Club SHC final at Ballyforan.

The free-taking of Eugene Cloonan had Athenry 0-9 to 0-3 in front at the interval.

Athenry upped the tempo in the second half and the game was ended as a contest midway through the second half when Athenry were allowed in for a soft goal. Joe Rabbitte's delivery was caught by John Conway and he attempted to find David Donoghue but goalkeeper Adrian Tully intercepted the pass only to fumble the ball and Donoghue was left with the simplest of scoring tasks.
