LAOIS made it two wins from two as they saw off a spirited Kerry challenge at O'Moore Park.
Goals in either half from Stephen Maher and substitute Andrew Collier kept Seamas Plunkett's men in control, despite having fallen behind early on.
A goal in the seventh minute from Brendan O'Leary gave Kerry the early advantage, but Laois reeled them in with points from Willie Hyland, Zane Keenan and Stephen Maher. Midway through the half, Maher blasted a penalty to the net and Laois led 1-9 to 1-6 at half-time.
Laois then started to put daylight between the teams in the second half, with Maher hitting three points to push them clear. They then opened up a nine-point gap, and a goal from Collier ended the game as a contest.
Kerry finished strongly, with Aidan Boyle adding a late goal and Shane Nolan winning a penalty, saved by Eoin Reilly.
