Clinical Toher leads Royal rout

Meath moved closer to reaching the Division 2B final with a comprehensive win over Roscommon at Athleague. The home team now face the prospect of a relegation play-off after their third defeat in four games.

Steven Clynch and James Toher were in clinical form from placed balls and scored 0-10 between them for the Royal county. The visitors made full use of wind to lead by 10 points at half-time and with Clynch playing as a sweeper in the second-half they restricted Roscommon to just 0-6 after the break.

Meath settled into their stride quickly with Patrick Conneely and Adam Gannon slotting four points between them in the opening minutes. An Eoin Marsh goal put daylight between teams and Meath led 1-10 to 0-3 at the interval. They remained comfortably in control throughout the second-half.
