Clare investigate hurling fracas

AN investigation into the melee that marred the recent Clare minor hurling final between Clarecastle and Kilmayley is formally under way.

Martin Reynolds, chairman of the county's Bord na nOg, has stepped aside because of his affiliation to Clarecastle.

Photographs of the incident that were published in several newspapers featured Anthony Daly, the county's All-Ireland-winning hurling captain and current Dublin manager. It has been reported, however, that Daly is not named in the referee's official account of what went on.
