Cats debut for Murphy

KILKENNY will start tonight's plum Allianz Hurling League opener and big rematch with Tipperary with just eight of their starters from last year's All-Ireland final.

Four of them are in defence, where David Herity (Dunamaggin) gets the goalkeeper's slot and Danesfort's Paul Murphy makes his league debut at corner-back, with Jackie Tyrrell moving to centre-back and JJ Delaney at full-back.

Michael Rice and John Mulhall man the midfield with Michael Fennelly moving to lead the attack at centre-forward.

Kilkenny (SH v Tipperary) -- D Herity; J Dalton, JJ Delaney, P Murphy; T Walsh, J Tyrrell, PJ Delaney; M Rice, J Mulhall; R Hogan, M Fennelly, A Fogarty; C Fennelly, E Brennan, TJ Reid.
