CORK hurling captain Pa Cronin, who was one of their best players when they lost a relegation play-off to Clare in April, is not fit enough to start against the Banner on Sunday after a recent bout of pneumonia.

But the Rebels have included him on their bench, confirming Jimmy Barry-Murphy's intention to introduce him at some stage of the Munster semi-final.

Brian Murphy takes over the Cork captaincy and Grenagh veteran Tom Kenny is recalled to midfield to replace the injured Lorcan McLoughlin in a team that sees five changes since that relegation play-off.

Stephen McDonnell returns from an injury lay-off to oust Killian Murphy at corner-back and Shane O'Neill replaces Stephen White at half-back.

But it is Cork's half-forward line that sees most changes, with Seamus Harnedy (St Ita's) making his championship debut at centre-forward and Cian McCarthy replacing long-term injury victim Paudie O'Sullivan.

Offaly, meanwhile, have made three changes for their qualifier clash Waterford at O'Connor Park tomorrow.

Cathal Parlon (hand injury) is ruled out and is replaced by Derek Morkan; Derek Molloy retains his place at centre-forward, while Dan Currams is named at full forward.
