Cahill the star for Midleton

Midleton CBS 2-15 Our Lady's Templemore 1-11

MIDLETON CBS are virtually assured of a place in the quarter-finals after securing a second victory in Cahir.

The Cork outfit gained revenge for last year's quarter-final exit at the hands of their Tipperary opponents with a seven-point win, Dylan Cahill contributing 1-9. It was his 12th-minute penalty goal that set Midleton on their way. They led by 2-7 to 0-7 at half-time.

Brian McGrath's 42nd-minute goal gave Templemore hope, but cutting the gap to four points was as good as it got for them. Templemore must now defeat Coláiste na nDéise in the final group game to ensure progress to the last eight of the competition.
