Burke swings it for Loughrea

St Brigid's Loughrea 3-6 Athenry VS 1-10
Connacht vs sh final

Eanna Burke blasted home a goal in the final quarter to deny Athenry at Ballinasloe yesterday.

St Brigid's, who featured eight of the side that claimed the junior All-Ireland hurling title last week, got off to a great start when a Darragh Dolan ground-stroke found the net after just 51 seconds.

Athenry hit back with a goal from Darragh Burke, but Kevin Killilea responded to help St Brigid's into a 2-3 to 1-5 half-time lead.

Three consecutive points after the restart saw Athenry take control, but St Brigid's hit back to draw level before Burke netted the decisive score.
