Brosnan tally carries Meelin to title

meelin 0-12
john lockes 1-5

Mass was cancelled in Meelin as the parish priest gave his Sunday service in the team's Dublin hotel. Divine intervention or not, the Cork side's prayers were answered as they claimed All-Ireland glory.

Eamonn Brosnan, who starred for Meelin, Jeremy Curtin and DJ O'Sullivan all registered first-half points for the Corkmen before Ger Shelley hit back with a splendid goal.

Lockes emerged with the look of rejuvenation after the break but they lacked any kind of penetration and a fantastic long-range puck from Brendan O'Sullivan late on split the posts to leave the result in no doubt.
