ST KIERAN'S showed no mercy as they racked up 3-10 in a powerful second-half display to rout their Birr opponents in Ratheniska.

The Offaly side were well in contention for most of the first half, but a fine individual goal from midfielder Liam Blanchfield, with virtually the last puck of the half, pushed Kieran's 1-7 to 0-6 clear.

Early second-half points from Eoin Gough, Michael Kenny and Paddy Mullen stretched the lead to six, before Mullen cleverly flicked the sliotar past Brian Hogan to leave nine between the sides.

And final-quarter goals from Chris Bolger and Michael Kenny wrapped up a handsome win.
