Bergin bags final brace

Full-forward Jamie Bergin led the scoring charge as Roscrea regained the Munster Vocational Schools senior hurling crown with a comprehensive nine-point victory against local rivals Borrisokane CC at Dolla on Saturday, writes Jackie Cahill.

This all-Tipperary clash was settled early in the second half when Bergin hit two goals within the space of four minutes. He netted two minutes into the second half and again four minutes later as Roscrea surged 10 points clear, 4-6 to 0-8.

Roscrea had also scored two first-half goals as Declan Cleary and Daniel Cleary gave their side a 2-6 to 0-7 interval lead.

Borrisokane were over-reliant on sharpshooter Shane Dooley as the full-forward bagged 1-9, a haul which included eight frees.
