Zarkava and 'Stars' hit spot

A HORSE sired by Sea The Stars and out of Zarkava is now 50/1 with Ladbrokes to win the Arc in 2014, following news that the Aga Khan mare is in foal to the 2009 hero.
The price on offer was 100/1, but the news that the ex-French trained star has been tested in foal to Sea The Stars has prompted the bookies to halve the odds. Sea The Stars completed a record-breaking season by winning the Arc last year while Zarkava took the race 12 months earlier.
Meanwhile, Leopardstown's 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas trials on Sunday have attracted good fields. In the fillies contest, Jim Bolger has five engaged -- Atasari, Gearanai, Gile Na Greine, Gold Bubbles and Pluirin. Aidan O'Brien has a quartet in Famous, Ice Empress, Queen Of Troy and You'll Be Mine.
Dermot Weld has Brushed Aside and Kevin Prendergast has two in Crystal Gal and Wrong Answer.
In the colts trial, Jim Bolger has Free Judgement and Purple Land. John Oxx enters Keredari while O'Brien has Black Quartz, Fighting Brave and Viscount Nelson, and Weld has Stunning View.
