ROI Du Mee enjoyed a facile success when jumping was the name of the game in the John Meagher Memorial Chase at Thurles.
The seven-year-old's task was made easier when his two main rivals in the five-runner field, Ordinary Man and Bostons Angel fell at the fourth-last and third-last respectively.
While there was carnage behind, the 9-10 favourite pulled clear to win by 11 lengths from Quarryvale.
Ballinahow Lady was well behind but got round in one piece to claim third prize.
"He's a great little horse. He's not the biggest but if we had a couple more like him it would be great," said Elliott.
"We'll keep him away from the Grade Ones and Twos.
"He'll keep to those small races and he should pay his way."
Russell and owners Gigginstown House Stud were completing a quick double having taken the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase with Tillahow (12-1), trained by Mouse Morris.
