Willie Mullins now an 11/10 shot to make it 10 titles in a row after slashing gap to Gordon Elliott
Willie Mullins is now just €126,000 behind Gordon Elliott with two days of the Punchestown Festival and the season to go.
The mouthwatering finish all racing fans were praying for looks to be coming to fruition after the Closutton trainer slashed €150,000 off Elliott's lead today.
The Cullentra House handler could only add €35,000 in prizemoney today while Mullins enjoyed much more success thanks to Nichols Canyon's second place finish in the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle, Great Field's win in the Grade One Ryanair Novice Chase and 1-2-3 in the Alanna Homes Mares Novice Hurdle.
Paddy Power have reacted by shortening Mullins to 11/10 with Gordon Elliott now a 4/6 favourite having been as short as 1/6 in the past week.
Both men have big chances tomorrow's Grade Ones but it looks like the title race will go right to the wire.
