Presvis bidding to set record

Luca Cumani's Presvis is gunning to make it third time lucky in the Singapore Airlines International Cup today.

The globetrotting seven-year-old finished a narrow second at Kranji two years ago and was a luckless fifth last season. Having found a mile too short in Hong Kong on his last start, he reverts to his favoured 10 furlongs and will have Richard Hughes on board for the first time.

"I'm very happy with the way the horse is, the team have done a great job with him. He seems very well and we are hoping for the best," said Matt Cumani, Luca's son and assistant. "There are things that we can't do anything about. I hope there is some pace as a slowly run race won't help him.

"His style of running from off the pace means that he is always going to need a little luck in running."
