AIDAN O'Brien's exciting prospect Roderic O'Connor looks set to clash with Kevin Prendergast's Dunboyne Express in the Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial Stakes on Sunday.
The Ballydoyle colt got closest to Henry Cecil's unbeaten Frankel in the Dewhurst last autumn before a raid to France saw him secure the Group One Criterium International at Saint-Cloud.
Among the potential opposition is Prendergast's Anglesey Stakes-winner Dunboyne Express. Prendergast, who has also entered Mawakef, indicated yesterday both his entries will work tomorrow morning before a decision is made.
Exodus and High Ruler add strength to O'Brien's hand, while A Word Apart, Cocozza, Imperial Rome and Whipless complete the list of possibles.
Meanwhile, O'Brien's dual Group One winner Misty For Me appears among 21 entries for the Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes. The daughter of Galileo won the Moyglare Stud Stakes before tasting success in the Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp on Arc day.
The three-year-old is one of five entries for Ballydoyle. John Oxx could be represented by Manieree, History Note and Redskin Dancer, while Dermot Weld is able to call on Midnight Music and Zaminast.
