Murphy just loves ladies
Ferdy Murphy is expecting a big run from the former Noel Meade-trained Hollo Ladies in tomorrow's Towton Novices' Chase at Wetherby.
The six-year-old was a Grade One winner over hurdles at Leopardstown last season when trained by Meade and has shown progressive form over fences since joining Murphy's stable in the summer, posting his first win at Southwell last month.
"He's really good at present. He came out of his Southwell win fantastically well and I couldn't be happier with him," said Murphy.
"Everything he's done since then has been positive. We schooled him the other day and Graham (Lee) was really pleased with him -- we're going to give him another pop in the morning. We wouldn't mind seeing a bit of rain for him -- that would help.
"Because we don't push our novices too hard too early, he hasn't been getting the recognition other horses have been getting, but he has plenty ability. We let them work away, get the experience and then see what happens.
"He got to the front too soon when he won last time and when he got there, Graham said he pulled himself up."
