Murphy in the money

Lightning struck twice at Clonmel yesterday when Whatsabillion bagged consecutive renewals of the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase. John Murphy's charge, given a fine ride by David Splaine, showed real grit to win by 10 lengths from Whosaidso.

Jockey Ken Whelan recorded his first success since January 2010 when Last Time D'Albain landed a gamble. Liam Cusack's charge was backed into 10/1 (from 16s) for the Comeragh Handicap Hurdle and recorded a four-length success over Molko Jack.
