Muddled forum a waste of money
These are cash-strapped times in England, so there's every reason to question whether the seven-figure sum spent on the Racing For Change (RFC) initiative is money well spent across the Irish Sea.
RFC is a forum for changing aspects of racing that marketing folk believe will open its tightly-locked gates. They maintain the sport would benefit significantly for clearly-defined seasons, "premierisation" of fixtures and a better consumer experience. We must tell our stories better, they tell us.
Really? Then perhaps they'd care to explain one glaring flaw in their hyper-expensive argument. With the Kauto Star/Denman clash receiving unprecedented publicity, why are tickets for Cheltenham Gold Cup day still on sale less than two weeks from the gig? The idea that people are queuing up to embrace racing is nonsense.
