Maguire's sights set on Gold
Let Yourself Go bids to book his ticket to Punchestown with a good performance in the Imperial Call Chase at Cork this afternoon.
Trainer Adrian Maguire has given the nine-year-old an entry in the Guinness Gold Cup at the big meeting on May 4 in the hope of a solid display in the five-runner Listed contest. "He ran very well over hurdles the last day and he's a horse who wants good, fast ground," said Maguire.
"We campaigned him on the heavy ground through the winter and it didn't suit, but he still ran some good races. He had a break and we'd be hoping for a good run in Mallow this weekend before hopefully going to Punchestown. The Punchestown Guinness Gold Cup is his main aim."
Meanwhile, John O'Call-aghan is hoping Swift Counsel's liking for the course will aid his cause.
"I'm happy with him and he likes Mallow. He's a bit to find on the handicap with the top two, but he likes the ground on the lively side," said the Cork trainer.
