Lynch's victory was the icing on the cake for the Irish who were in flying form in Germany. Dermott Lennon won Saturday's Speed class with Wibowee before finishing third with Loughview Lou Lou in the feature Championship competition in which Cameron Hanley lined up fifth with Z Acodate DDL.

Cian O'Connor was also in the ribbons on Saturday when he was runner-up with Quidam's Cherie in the Gothaer Trophy.

The Irish team finished joint-fourth in Friday's Nations Cup at Drammen in Norway with Brian Curran-Cournane (Javas Keltic Mist) producing one of five double-clear performances.

The Irish also took three of the top-five places in the Derby. Michael G Duffy (Wilton John VDL) was runner-up, his brother Alex (Wrangler) finished fourth and Thomas Ryan (Cruise on Clover) slotted into fifth place.

Irish Olympians, Aoife Clark and Michael Ryan, impressed at Badminton, where Dublin-born Clark moved up from 11th to finish eighth while Ryan rocketed up from 21st to finish ninth.
