Loco set for swift return

Chris Wall's stable star Premio Loco features among nine remaining entries in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood on Saturday.

The six-year-old put up arguably a career-best effort to finish third behind Canford Cliffs and Rip Van Winkle in last month's Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and looks set for a swift return.

Godolphin's Rio De La Plata is among the confirmations following his impressive win in last week's Strensall Stakes at York and could be joined by stablemate Poet's Voice.

Marcus Tregoning's Finjaan needs to rediscover his form after disappointing on his last couple of appearances, while Vitznau, Summer Fete, Beethoven, Rainfall and Main Aim complete the contenders. The last of those is owned by Prince Khalid Abdullah and was not disgraced in finishing fourth in the Betfair Cup at the Glorious meeting.

Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said: "I would think Main Aim would be a likely runner. He ran a bit better at Goodwood last time and I would hope for another good show this weekend."

Meanwhile, Mikael Magnusson is eyeing a tilt at the Canadian International with Bridge Of Gold following his fantastic effort in last week's totesport Ebor at York.

Magnusson is looking to give the four-year-old one more run before a possible trip across the Atlantic in October.
