LITTLE White Cloud will be seen next in the King George V Cup at Leopardstown on June 7 after his fine run in the Derrinstown Derby Trial on Sunday.
John Oxx's grey was sent off an unconsidered 33-1 shot in the four-runner affair, but was only beaten three lengths by Derby second-favourite Battle Of Marengo, with Group One winner Loch Garman just a length and a quarter in front of him.
He is from the family of St Leger winner Millenary, and Oxx feels the Dalakhani colt would have no trouble staying that trip.
"He ran well and we were very pleased," said Oxx.
"On paper he looked a little out of his depth, but we thought he'd run well and he did.
"He'll go for the Nijinsky Stakes (now called the King George V Cup) on June 7 which is an 11-furlong Listed race and we'll see how he shapes in that.
"What he wants is some good ground. It was a little dead for him yesterday.
"He'd certainly get the St Leger trip, but it's a bit early to know if he's good enough. It's a possibility at this stage.
"What I would say is that the second and third from Sunday will both improve a great deal."
