Injury sinks Le Beau Bai's repeat bid

LAST year's Welsh Grand National winner Le Beau Bai has been ruled out of next week's Chepstow marathon after suffering an injury in routine work on the gallops.

Richard Lee's nine-year-old looked set to return with a big chance after enjoying a fine preparation for the feature, including a win over hurdles at Ffos Las, but he's now likely to miss the rest of the season.

As the weather continues to grip racing on both sides of the Irish Sea, Navan has cancelled two chases ahead of its fixture tomorrow.

The chase track was found to be unfit for racing following an inspection yesterday and one of the hurdle races will now be divided to form a six-race programme.

However, there was some good news for Southwell, which has been given the green light to stage its National Hunt fixture on January 3 following an inspection of the course. However, just like Exeter yesterday, today's meeting at Uttoxeter has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.
