Hanlon's new cyclone plan

John Hanlon is to switch Hidden Cyclone to the Future Champions Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown after withdrawing him from Navan last Saturday, WRITES KEITH HAMER.

The Co Carlow trainer will run the unbeaten five-year-old in the Grade One next Monday after being unhappy with the ground at Navan.

That race was won by Jessica Harrington's Oscar Wells after the meeting got the go-ahead following an inspection.

"I was afraid of the ground. He's a big horse -- 16.3 -- and I wasn't happy," said Hanlon. "He'll go to Leopardstown over Christmas.

"He's a lovely horse and I just couldn't take the chance on Saturday, although it was a golden opportunity for me to pick up a Grade One, but we'll have to wait."
