Halford's Daliyra can land feature at Dundalk
Michael Halford's filly, Daliyra, tops the weights for this evening's feature at Dundalk, the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap and off an initial rating of 87, looks the one to follow.
However, the Ger Lyons-trained Knights Templar, a seven-furlong winner at the same track last November, is also making his handicap debut and must be accorded plenty of respect.
Similarly, Bashir Biyoum Zain is not without a chance, having hinted that this more demanding trip would suit when making a winning start to the campaign over seven furlongs at the same venue last month.
Nonetheless, preference is given to Halford's Refuse To Bend filly to land the night's biggest prize.
The action gets under way with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden.
Here, Lyons saddles Clondinnery, which showed promise when third at the Curragh last month and can put it up to Catalpa Sail and Jolly Snake, which have the advantage of course experience.
Aidan O'Brien will be looking for improvement from Ice Empress following her Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, while Ballydoyle will also be hoping for a good showing from Captain James Cook in the Generali Ireland Maiden.
The latter, however, appears to be facing a tall order with John Oxx's Behtarini in opposition.
