Olympic medallist Cian O'Connor has posted a win and a third-place finish at the CHIO in Aachen this week, but the Irishman stealing the limelight at the German venue is up-and-coming star Jonathan Gordon.
The 22-year-old from Mayo finished fourth with PSG Junior in Wednesday's Speed competition won by O'Connor and Be Gentle. And yesterday he was just pipped for the honours in the Stawag Prize.
Bertram Allen was out of luck with a fence down on High Valley.
O'Connor was untouchable in the Speed class, steering his 10-year-old mare through the timers with two seconds to spare over his rivals.
