Paul Nicholls is keen on the chances of Five Dream as the champion trainer chases a second victory in the www.thetote.com Galway Plate on Wednesday week.

The Ditcheat handler saddled Oslot to success in the Ballybrit highlight in 2008 and feels Five Dream, second in a novice chase at Newton Abbot on his latest appearance, compares favourably.

"We targeted the race at Newton Abbot to get him ready for Galway and I think he is slightly better going right-handed," Nicholls told At The Races.

"He did jump slightly right at Newton Abbot and a small field in a novice chase probably doesn't suit him, but he ran a good race and we have had Galway targeted since that day.

"He's probably a better horse than Oslot. He was very well handicapped on the day - that was his Gold Cup and he hasn't won a race since, but we can't complain given the value of the race.

"This horse has always been talented, but maybe he has kept a bit back for himself and everything has to go right for him.

"But if you don't target them for a race like this and try and give it your very best, you're not going to win.

"The Galway Plate will probably be this horse's Gold Cup as well and that's why we're having a go at it.

"There is a question mark in the back of mind about the trip (two miles and six furlongs).

"He hasn't actually won over this far, but he was staying on very well over two miles five at Cheltenham last season and maybe this is what he wants.

"He's won on all sorts of ground, but good ground would suit him very well over this trip."
