McCoy eyes tasty Plate

Britain's perennial champion jockey Tony McCoy, married to Loughrea native Chanelle Burke, will be on duty for his main employer, JP McManus, at Galway on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon in the Tote Plate and Guinness Hurdle.

The hugely popular Antrim native, victorious with the Aidan O'Brien-trained 12/1 chance Toast The Spreece in the 1997 version of the Guinness promotion, could be on either Lethal Weapon or recent Killarney Flat winner Alpine Eagle in next week's renewal, while the principal Tote-backed Plate entries for McManus at this stage are Dancing Tornado and Finger Onthe Pulse.
